Thanks for Your Support
The Local History Group has been busy again with our annual Lanterns Procession. Thanks to Judy Dewhirst, Shirley Northwood and Lyndsey Kerswell for all your hard work and enthusiasm in preparing for this event.
We also had the prize-giving for the Arthur French Memorial Trophy at the primary school. The theme was St. Andrew’s Church. This year’s winners in order from Reception to Year 6 were Alex Neale, Noah Conibear, Rosie Harvey, Poppy Baker, Bertie Farrell, Lola Hawdon and Emily Hunt. The overall winner was Emily Hunt from Year 6. Special thanks go to Amanda Lacey and her staff for continuing to support this event.
And finally thanks to Dr. Chris Smart from Exeter University for hosting an Historic Landscapes workshop at the Hub with the emphasis on old maps, documents and archaeological information for the parish of Ipplepen.
Social Media
Many of us feel that social media can be a mixed blessing eating away into our time by requiring too much of our attention. Having said that it’s undeniable that the Facebook pages of the Local History Group and the Hub and the pages of Spotted Ipplepen are having a transformative affect on communications in the village.
